Alingon Mitra is an American comedian, writer, and actor. He was born on November 10, 1983, in Kolkata, India and grew up in Massachusetts, United States. He is known for his appearances on various TV shows, including Conan, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Mitra has also performed at numerous comedy festivals, such as the Montreal Just For Laughs comedy festival.
Mitra began his career as a stand-up comedian in 2006 and has since then performed all over the United States and internationally. In 2013, he won the title of Funniest Comic in New England at the Boston Comedy Festival. Mitra has also been a writer for The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Adam Ruins Everything, and The President Show. He has also acted in shows and films such as American Vandal, Bajillion Dollar Propertie$, and Late Night.
Mitra received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University and his law degree from Harvard Law School. However, he decided to pursue a career in comedy instead of law. He has also written for publications such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Wall Street Journal. Mitra is also a co-host of the podcast The Shining Wizards.
